Google I/O is just around the corner, with the showcase slated to take place on May 19, 2026, and the Mountain View-based tech giant might be working towards amping up Gemini's video-making capabilities. New leaks and rumours suggest that users might be able to edit AI-generated video inside Gemini itself. Demos coming early on suggest more realistic motion, better text rendering, and improvements to scene composition. Now again, there is no official confirmation for this from the company, but it's surfacing over the internet just a few days before Google I/O showcase, suggesting something might be up, and the feature, if rumours hold true, could feature soon.

Google Gemini Omni To Feature Soon?

Google could be preparing a new AI-powered video creation tool under the Gemini brand. According to a report by 9to5Google, at least one Gemini user recently spotted a prompt called “Create with Gemini Omni” inside the platform.

The feature is reportedly being described by Google as a new video generation model capable of remixing clips, editing videos directly within chat, using templates, and handling other creative tasks. While details are still limited, the report suggests Omni may not be an entirely separate system. Instead, metadata linked to the feature hints that it could be built on top of Google’s existing Veo AI video technology.

One leaked demo reportedly showed a professor writing and explaining trigonometric proofs on a chalkboard. What stood out was how accurately the AI handled the equations on screen while also keeping the person’s hand movements and facial expressions looking natural, something many current AI video tools still struggle with.

Another demo showcased the famous "spaghetti test", something that is used to benchmark the potency of AI videos. It shows two men dining at a seaside restaurant and having spaghetti while having a conversation. Reports suggest the results from Gemini Omni were much more convincing and a step up from previous models, showcasing better hand coordination and object interaction.

The same user who reportedly gained access to Gemini Omni also spotted a new usage tracking section inside the Gemini app. Interestingly, just two AI-generated videos were said to have used up 86 per cent of the daily allowance available under the Google AI Pro plan. That strongly suggests Google may place far tighter limits on video creation compared to regular text prompts or image generation features.

Google has already been pushing AI video tools as a major part of its future roadmap, so the timing of this leak is notable. With Google I/O 2026 coming up soon, there’s a good chance the company could use the event to formally unveil Gemini Omni and position it within the wider Gemini AI lineup.

For now, though, nothing has been officially announced. The details currently floating around are based on leaks and early sightings, so it’s still best to wait for confirmation directly from Google before taking any of it as final.
