Motorola has taken the wraps off the Signature 27 at Snapdragon Summit 2026. The new smartphone is the second model in the company's Signature lineup after the Motorola Signature, which was launched earlier this year. It also joins the first batch of phones announced with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
The Signature 27 brings a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910 primary camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Motorola has also changed the naming system for the series, with the "27" in Signature 27 referring to the final two digits of the upcoming year.
Motorola has not shared the price or exact sale date yet. For now, the company has only confirmed that the phone will make its way to global markets later this year.
Motorola Signature 27 Colours And Design
The Signature 27 will be sold in two finishes, Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive.
The Coal Smoke version has a woven texture on the rear, which Motorola says is meant to offer better grip and durability. The Capulet Olive model, on the other hand, uses a brushed finish inspired by textiles.
Motorola has not revealed all of the phone's specifications yet. Details such as the display, battery, charging speed, RAM, storage and the other camera sensors are still under wraps.
Motorola Signature 27 Specifications And Features
The biggest change inside the Signature 27 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It was announced at Snapdragon Summit 2026 alongside the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.
Motorola says the new processor brings improvements in areas such as on-device AI, camera performance and gaming, along with faster download speeds.
The company is also using a new cooling setup called ArcticMesh. It combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal and copper mesh with a redesigned 3D vapour chamber. Motorola claims the new vapour chamber is 40 per cent larger than the one used in the previous generation.
200-Megapixel Periscope Camera
Photography is another major focus of the Signature 27. The phone gets a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910 main camera, paired with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
Motorola has also added a new Video Enhancement Engine for video recording. The AI system analyses the scene before and during recording and adjusts colour tones in real time.
The company has not yet revealed the specifications of the remaining cameras.
Gemini AI Features And Seven Years Of Updates
AI features on the Signature 27 extend beyond photography. Motorola says the phone will support Google's Gemini Omni, which can turn a prompt, photo or existing video into a finished video.
Google's Lyria will also be available for generating music and soundtracks.
On the software side, the Signature 27 is expected to run Android 17 out of the box. Motorola is promising seven years of OS upgrades for the phone.

The Signature 27 also has another first for Motorola. It is the company's first smartphone to feature Audio by B&O, with the branding placed on the rear panel.
Motorola is yet to announce the price, sale date and several key specifications of the Signature 27. The company says the phone will launch globally later this year.
