LG Electronics India has launched a new range of semi-automatic washing machines in India, with 15 models offering capacities between 8kg and 12kg. The new lineup focuses on features aimed at dealing with some of the everyday laundry problems, including stubborn stains, leftover detergent, lint and clothes taking longer to dry.
The new models are also designed with a more premium look, with colour options such as Onyx Black, Middle Black and Burgundy. Some models come with a Toughened Glass Lid with a soft-closing mechanism.

LG has also confirmed that exports of its AX Semi-Automatic Washing Machines are scheduled to begin in 2027. The company plans to take these models to more than 10 countries globally.

LG Semi-Automatic Washing Machine Features
The new range gets LG’s Dual Spin Shower system, which uses two water inlets to rinse clothes and remove residual detergent more effectively. The company says this helps leave clothes cleaner and fresher after the wash.
For removing dirt, the machines feature a Roller Jet Pulsator+. Its design is inspired by a whale’s tail and is meant to create stronger movement of water inside the wash tub. This helps clothes move around during the cycle while also working on stubborn dirt.
There is also an Ultra Scrub Wall for areas that tend to collect more dirt, such as collars and cuffs. The new Smart Filter, meanwhile, catches lint during washing and can be removed for cleaning.
LG has also focused on reducing drying time. Its Wind Jet Dry+ system uses airflow while the clothes are being spun to remove excess moisture, which can help clothes dry faster.
Users get 3+1 wash programmes, giving them more flexibility for different types of laundry. The machines also feature Rat Away Technology, which is designed to provide additional protection to the appliance.
New LG Washing Machines Get A More Premium Design
The design is another area where LG has made changes. The new machines feature a box-type body with a bold pattern, along with durable knobs and the new colour options.
Selected models get a Toughened Glass Lid with a soft-closing mechanism. Apart from adding to the overall design, LG says the lid is built for better durability and quieter operation.
The new washing machines are being manufactured at LG’s Greater Noida facility. The company describes the plant as an Industry 5.0-centric smart factory, using technologies such as AI-enabled manufacturing, automation, robotics and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

LG says the production process includes 100 per cent quality checks, AI-based vision inspection and testing at NABL-accredited laboratories. The company says these processes are used to maintain quality and improve production efficiency.
With the new lineup, LG is giving buyers more choice in the semi-automatic segment, with 8kg to 12kg capacities and a mix of new washing, rinsing and drying features. The range also brings a more premium design to what has traditionally been a more functional category of washing machines.
