Google has been making a lot of progress in terms of offering users a variety of different features on their devices. In the latest update, Google may soon begin rolling out animated emoji reactions in its Messaging application in order to make the platform more interactive and conversational.
For those who don't know, X user AssembleDebug originally found the capability in the Google Messages beta. Users can respond to messages with animated emoticons by long-pressing on the message and choosing their preferred emoji, as demonstrated in the video AssembleDebug posted. The chosen emoji will then show up above the text.
"There will be new animations for message reactions in Google Messages," AssembleDebug wrote.
"These animated emoji reactions aren't the typical ones you might see in Google Messages; instead, they resemble Telegram's message reactions," he added.
Meanwhile, on Android smartphones, Google has finally made it possible to respond to emails with an emoji. Over the next months, the capability will progressively be made available to web and iOS users in addition to Android users.
"Use emojis to express yourself and swiftly reply to emails on your Android device. The emoji reaction option is available on every message in Gmail", the business announced in a statement.
This is how it works. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
"To respond to a message, open it. Click Add emoji reaction underneath the message. Put an emoticon here. Choose the desired emoji to use from the picker. Click More to see more emoji." Google stated that the emoji you choose would show up at the bottom of the email.
