JE Technology Desk: Google Pixel 8 series is among the highly-anticipated Android devices that could debut in 2023. Several reports have teased the specs sheet and features of the upcoming smartphones. And the latest one has given us hints at the battery life and charging speeds of the successors of the Pixel 7 series handsets.
Citing a source from Google, Android Authority revealed that the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro could support 24W and 27W wired charging. A four points jump in wattage. For the unaware, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro support 20W and 23W charging. The charging speeds for wireless charging will likely remain unchanged.

Google Pixel 8 Series Leaks: Upgraded Battery Pack
Like charging speeds, battery capacities on both devices may not witness a sharp rise either. The Pixel 8 is expected to have a 4,485mAh battery against the 4,270mAh on the Pixel 7. On the flip side, the Pixel 8 Pro could have a 4,950mAh battery pack, a minimal upgrade of 24mAh from the Pixel 7 Pro.
Pixel 8 Series Leaks: May Support Wi-Fi 7
The report further adds that the search giant is also adding support for Wi-Fi 7 on both mobiles. Secondly, an Ultra-wideband (UWB) chip for pinpoint location will still be limited to the 'Pro' model. It could come with upgraded capabilities this year.
Other than the fresh leaks, the media outlet has leaked several details about the upcoming devices in the past. The Pixel 8 may have a 6.17-inch 120Hz display, and the 8 Pro may have a 6.7-inch flat screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The handsets may have a Tensor G3 chipset for performance. The Pixel 8 could come with a 50MP primary and 12MP ultra-wide camera on the back.
The bigger sibling, the 8 Pro, may have a 50MP main, 64MP ultra-wide and 50MP telephoto lens with a thermometer on the back. However, the reader must note these are not official specifications and might differ at the time of the official launch.
