Google Pixel 9a Launched in India: It is finally here! And Google has launched its Pixel 9a, a smartphone that caters to the mid-tier segment in the industry. This entry is a bit early as usually the device launched before or at the Google I/O event in May.
There have been a lot of speculation and rumours that were floating around the internet when it comes to the Pixel 9a, and finally, we have it here and this one comes with an in-house Tensor G4 chipset, and is currently priced at Rs 49,999. With this new entry, Google has introduced some hardware, performance and design upgrades. This one sports a look that is a bit different from what the tech giant usually offers. This device offers flagship capabilities that come at a cheaper price range, and this could just be the phone for you.

Google Pixel 9a: Pricing and Availability
The Pixel 9a will be available in four color options: Peony, Iris, Porcelain, and Obsidian. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is set at ₹49,999, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB model costs ₹56,999. Buyers can also benefit from a ₹3,000 cashback offer and a 24-month no-cost EMI when purchasing through select banking partners. The device will go on sale via Flipkart starting April 2025.
What's Under The Hood?
Google has unveiled the Pixel 9a, bringing upgraded features and a refreshed design. This time, the company has done away with the signature camera bar, giving the device a cleaner look. Durability has also improved, with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The Pixel 9a comes with a larger 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2700 nits—35% brighter than the Pixel 8a and has support for 4k video recording as well. Powering the phone is Google’s Tensor G4 chipset, complemented by the Titan M2 security chip for added protection.
Loaded With AI
This new Pixel comes loaded with AI features that include Gemini AI, Circle o Search, Magic Eraser, Audio Magic and many other features. This device comes with a dual camera setup that has a 48MP main shooter and a 13MP ultrawide lens. For selfies, it has a 13MP shooter. It also comes with a 5,100 mAh and supports 33W wired charging.
Out of the box, it comes with Android 15 and Google has promised 7 years of OS updates and Pixel Drops, for that added layer of support for 9a users.
The Google Pixel 9a comes in three colourways namely: Obsidian, Porcelain and Iris. Another highlight of this phone is that Google claims that this device can last up to 100 hrs in Extreme Battery Saver mode, this is obviously without any video playback going on.
