Google is expected to unveil the successor of the Pixel Watch 2 in October this year. And it seems the design of its upgrade could be nearly identical to the current smartwatch offering. We say this as the Google Pixel 3's leaked renders suggest the same. For the unaware, the smart wearable could debut along with the Pixel 9 series. Ahead of the release, 91Mobiles, in collaboration with OnLeaks (Steve Hemmerstoffer), leaked the renders of the wearable in a recent report.

Going by the leaks, the design is very familiar to the existing Watch 2. The wearable could get a 1.2-inch screen with thinner bezels. A circular dial with a rotating crown may be among the signature appeal of the upcoming smartwatch. The wearable will likely run on Google's WearOS. As for the wristband, while the leaked image hints at a black strap, it could arrive in more colours when the device launches.

OnLeaks hints the watch could be thicker than the previous generation model. This could be because of an increased battery capacity or sensors. The Watch 3 could reportedly have a 307mAh battery compared to Watch 2's 304mAh. The rumoured dimensions for the watch are 40.79 x 40.73 x 14mm. 91Mobiles also noted the watch could arrive in two different sizes this time.

This could imply a newer and possible "Pixel Watch 3 Pro" with the vanilla Pixel Watch 3. The placement of the speaker, crown, microphone and other hardware elements will likely remain unchanged. While there may be no major tweaks in the design, the updates could likely centred around the hardware and software of the product.

However, readers should note that the images are not official marketing material of the watch. Things could change later. Meanwhile, a recent leak also hinted at the possible first look of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold (the successor of the Pixel Fold) could also launch at the event.
