Mobile users in India need to be on their toes to monitor the use of their identities. Unsuspecting mobile users are often shocked to find that they have received multiple SIM cards under their names, without their consent or knowledge. These fake SIMs could be used for fraud, scams, or cybercrimes. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) now provides a quick and easy way to verify all mobile numbers associated with your name. This guide will teach you how to verify SIM cards that are linked to your identity and report them if necessary. Take this important digital security step now to stay safe, informed, and secure.

Why Blocking Extra SIM Cards is Important

It is important to block extra SIM cards in order to protect your identity and ensure national security. Fraudsters can use unauthorised or extra SIM cards to carry out illegal activities, especially with the increase in mobile-based frauds and cybercrimes. Limiting the number of active SIMs for each person is a way to maintain a transparent, accountable, and transparent telecom network. This also reduces the likelihood of fraud, protecting people from financial and legal consequences.
