iOS 18 is already among the most anticipated software releases for iPhone owners. The iOS 18 upgrade is expected to introduce a plethora of new features, including AI capabilities. It also has a call recording function. Not only that but with the iOS 18 release, iPhone users will be able to transcribe calls on command.
iOS 18 Call Record Feature:
The tech giant will finally allow iPhone users to record phone calls without having to install any third-party applications. When users install iOS 18, they will notice a start recording button that, when tapped, will allow them to record their conversation. However, it will alert the other person that they are being recorded. It will display the length of the recording when it is complete.
After the recording is finished, users will be able to access the transcript for further reference. Apple will eventually save the transcripts to Apple Notes, where they can be preserved or removed later.
While Apple Intelligence will help to transcript your calls on compatible devices like the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, the Notes app will also offer an AI-powered summary of the transcript. However, the features' eligibility and whether they will be available on other iPhones are currently unknown.
However, the reports suggest that older iPhone owners may receive the basic call transcript feature because it does not require Apple Intelligence features. Furthermore, the report stated that the user may not require an iPhone 15 Pro series phone to use it.
The call transcript feature with iOS 18 will include the following languages:
English (US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore),
Spanish (US, Mexico, Spain)
French (France)
German (Germany)
Japanese (Japan)
Mandarin Chinese (China mainland, Taiwan)
Cantonese (China mainland, Hong Kong)
Portuguese (Brazil)
However, the feature is presently not included in iOS 18 beta 3. But we may not have to wait for the iOS 18.1 or iOS 18.2 updates, as they will be released alongside iOS 18.
