iPhone 17 Pro Max In 2276: Leaving behind memorabilia or keeping it preserved is an act as old as time. Humans have been leaving behind objects intentionally from prehistoric times, and it's not just lost and found but preserved in intentional burials, and it seems this is something passed down from previous generations to the future we live in now as well.

Now why do I say that? Well, as the US marked its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, it buried a stainless steel capsule in Philadelphia, which is approx. 900 pounds or 408 kg, and this capsule will act like a memory from the life we live in 2026 right now. This capsule is slated to be opened in 250 years, in the year 2276. But what's in the box?

One of the items that you will find in this capsule is an iPhone 17 Pro Max in cosmic orange colour; yes, you heard that right. The capsule will include items that will be a representation of the lifestyle we have in 2026, collected from all 50 states of the US and even its five territories, included. Now smartphones have become central to our being in this day and age, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max's presence there may be the most important thing.

What Will They Find Inside The iPhone 17 Pro Max In 2276?

Although it might not be possible to revive the iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2276, as the device runs on lithium-ion batteries that will degrade as time passes by, you never know what technology we might be dealing with in the future. But if, anyhow, people are able to access it in 2276, the iPhone 17 Pro Max includes artefacts stored in the Notes app. People in that time will find photos, notes and other digital things on the device and will be able to have a comparison with what technology they have at that point in time in 2276.

We can safely assume that we might have way better tech than we have now, and advancements might have reached another level, and it's not possible to assess now what people might feel with what they find. But learning from experiences from the human past, it could be close to how we feel when we see stone tools and other burial materials from the humans that had left that behind, a mystery tangled with curiosity. Also, 250 years is a big time when it comes to tech advancements, as 250 years ago from now, we were in the era of the steam engine, and mobile phones and even the telegraph were non-existent.

What Other Items Are There?

Apart from the iPhone 17 Pro Max, there are other items in the capsule as well from different states of the US. Arizona has contributed a stainless steel coin which is engraved, using nano-etching tech, with the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution in full text. New Hampshire, on the other hand, has contributed a brochure which sheds light on major events of the Revolutionary War history.

How Does The Capsule Look?

The capsule is a stainless steel cylinder, and it is anticipated that it will make it more durable and keep it safe from cracks and other things compared to a standard box. This is entrapped in another cylinder which is expected to trap air and push out water, if any. To ensure that the capsule is found, a detailed plan has been laid out in the National Park Service's succession plan, and the burial site will be marked by a capstone.
