Aadhaar Card Update: In India, it is necessary for the citizens to have an Aadhaar Card, it is a very crucial document that enables the citizens to carry out several tasks in the country. The Aadhar Card was introduced in 2009 as a common identity card for its citizens, and it needs to be updated periodically. It is advised that people whose Aadhar Cards are 10 years or older should update them. Keeping this in mind UIDAI is running several campaigns and working on this process across the country. UIDAI is also running campaigns in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir administration in various districts for the same purpose.
A meeting was conducted to discuss the update of Aadhar Cards which covered all aspects from creating to updating the cards. In the meeting, it was put forth that Aadhar centers have been set up in all districts of Jammu and Kashmir in partnership with UIDAI. Regarding the issue of new Aadhar Cards, it was mentioned that verified birth certificates of newborns will be used to create Aadhar Cards at the hospital itself.

Campaign Underway
Campaigns are currently underway across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir to encourage people to update their Aadhaar details. These campaigns are educating citizens about the importance of updating information such as demographic details, biometrics, mobile numbers, and other required documents. It’s mandatory to update Aadhaar information every 10 years, including details like name, age, and biometrics. Failure to do so could result in the cancellation of the Aadhaar card. To make this process easier, UIDAI has established more than 1,000 Aadhaar centers.
