JioHotstar Recharge Plan: X, earlier known as Twitter, is abuzz with screenshots of users claiming that they have successfully managed to activate the JioHotstar Premium plan for ₹ 1. Screenshots showing successful payments and active Premium accounts are going viral online. It seems this is an offer for select users, though, and neither Jio nor Hotstar has announced the deal yet.

The JioHotstar premium subscription comes with a host of premium benefits, making it one of the most feature-rich OTT packages:

Interestingly, a lot of users on X claim that this offer is not limited to Jio SIM users. Although some assumed you'd need a Jio number, several others confirmed the fact that non-Jio users have also received the opportunity to activate the plan for ₹1. In fact, a few even claim to have received a one-year subscription for just a single rupee — though this hasn’t been verified officially.
This could indicate that the ₹1 offer might be part of some limited internal testing or even a promotional experiment aimed at specific accounts.
How to check if you're eligible for the ₹1 offer
If you're wondering if you're eligible for this offer, here's how you can check:
1. Download or open the JioHotstar app on your phone.
2. Log in with a mobile number which does not have an active subscription.
3. Tap the 'My Space' icon at the bottom.
4. Click on 'Subscribe' to open the plan details.
5. Check that the JioHotstar Premium plan is available at ₹1.
6. If eligible, select the plan and make the ₹1 payment; your Premium subscription should turn on instantly.
The above process works both for Android and iOS users, and any standard payment method can be used, such as UPI, card, or wallet.
What We Know So Far
As of now, everything related to the JioHotstar ₹1 Premium plan is based on user reports. There has been no official statement from Jio or Hotstar to confirm its validity or length of time. It's not known how long this offer will remain active or on what basis eligibility is determined.
Still, given the history of Jio surprising its users with great deals, from free data launches to bundle-based OTT access, it would not be surprising if this turned out to be yet another promotional test for a limited period.
