WhatsApp seems to be working on all aspects including the new features, expansion and user interface. In a new update, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform has now rolled out a dedicated application for the smartwatches which run on Google’s WearOS 3 and above. Announced at the annual Google I/O 2023, the application now lets users stay connected to their friends, family and colleagues without having the phone around.
The feature is helpful for those who have LTE smartwatches. For those who are unaware, LTE smartwatches support cellular connectivity with an eSIM.
WhatsApp New Smartwatch App Capabilities:
The new application will allow users to send and respond back with the help of voice messages, emoji, text and even quick replies. The new update comes just days before the Unpacked 2023 event where the company is going to announce Galaxy Watch 6 series along with Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Google, on the other hand, is working on an OS for its Pixel watch that will allow users to add popular apps to the smartwatch, luring Android users to the smartwatch.
WhatsApp WearOS Aim:
The business intends to provide more functions to smartwatch users, as it was previously limited to responding to WhatsApp messages. Users may now get their hands on a variety of features that make it easier to connect with other users. However, the iOS application is still unavailable.
WhatsApp is now available on 5 different platforms including smartphones, tablets, desktops, web and smartwatches.
Meanwhile, the company is also testing the feature using which the users will be able to send text messages without saving the contact numbers. Using this feature, the company aims to help users send messages to unknown numbers hassle-free.
