Meta Threads, which recently passed the 150 million sign-up mark, has reportedly lost plenty of its daily active members. According to the report, using Sensor Tower data, users' time spent has decreased by 50 per cent from 20 minutes to 10 minutes, while daily active users have decreased by around 20 per cent since its launch on July 5.
Data from Similarweb revealed a loss of more than 25 per cent in daily active users on Android phones worldwide. It also revealed that utilisation duration has fallen by more than 50 per cent. However, the platform is in the early stages and as the company is adding new features to the platform, it might fluctuate again.

While the report by TechCrunch highlights that India is one of the leading countries in terms of downloads and it gets over 33 per cent of global downloads, which is followed by Brazil with 22 per cent, the US with 16 per cent and Mexico and Japan with 8 per cent and 5 per cent. The social media platform is not available in the EU over privacy concerns and data collection concerns.
"While it's early days, we're excited about Threads' initial success, which has exceeded our expectations. We launched the app just over a week ago, and our priority now is to ensure stable performance, deliver new features, and continue to improve the experience in the coming months," an official company spokesperson said in a statement.

Twitter owner Elon Musk, on the other hand, claimed that Twitter traffic was up 3.5% and that it will begin sharing ad revenue from profile page views soon. The billionaire also confessed that Twitter had a 50% decline in ad revenue and had significant debts in the past.
Meanwhile, Threads has previously rolled out a major update with which it has brought support for the upcoming iOS 17 version, and is currently available in the beta with small changes.
