Microsoft Windows CrowdStrike Update: Microsoft Windows users faced a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error after the CrowdStrike update. The update reportedly affected the CrowdStrike sensor versions and Microsoft has acknowledged the problem and is investigating the cause. The company has acknowledged the update and said the "widespread issue is causing the BSOD errors on Windows".
Apart from Windows, services like Microsoft Store, Microsoft 365, Xbox and other services of the tech giant are also affected. According to reports, leading banks, media houses, and airlines (including India) are facing the heat from the recent Microsoft outage. The company is taking "mitigation actions" following the service issues.

The Indian IT ministry is in talks with Microsoft concerning the widespread outage. Taking to X (formerly called Twitter), IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw posted: "MEITY is in touch with Microsoft and its associates regarding the global outage. The reason for this outage has been identified and updates have been released to resolve the issue."

CERT is issuing a technical advisory.
NIC network is not affected.
For affected users with the CrowdStrike update, the system is displaying the error of the recovery screen which states: "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart". In some cases, systems are suddenly shutting down. The error message in most cases read: "It looks like Windows didn't load correctly. If you'd like to restart and try again, choose Restart my PC below."
Meanwhile, President and CEO of CrowdStrike George Kurtz posted that the instance is "not a security incident or cyberattack". Here is the full tweet.

Microsoft CEO has also shared his reaction to the update on X.
