Nothing Phone 2a Leaks: Nothing Phone 2 witnessed a massive price cut of Rs 5,000 in India about 24 hours ago. While this is exciting news for Phone (2) buyers, another update concerning the brand is doing rounds on the internet. According to reports, a mysterious Nothing smartphone has appeared in a BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) listing with model number - A142. The naming is similar to the previous code conventions of the earlier devices from the London-based tech giant.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, a Nothing battery and smartphone were spotted on the certification platform. While one listing (probably the handset) has a date of grant of December 1, 2023, the other (likely the battery) was certified on November 17, 2023. This hints the company could introduce a new smartphone that could be the successor to the Phone (2) or the rumoured Phone (2a).

Considering the recent debut of the Phone (2), a predecessor for the handset is unlikely. The certified device could reportedly be the much-rumoured Phone (2a), which may cost less than the latest model.

Nothing Phone 2A Price (Expectations)

According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the company could be working on a smartphone called Phone (2a). Considering the image in the X (formerly Twitter) post, it may have a Glyph Interface similar to the Phone (1). This also could be a hint that it could be cheaper than the Phone (2).

From the hints, it seems the London-based tech giant is adopting a strategy similar to Google after going the Apple way initially. While no rumours around the price are live, considering the Phone (2) sits in the sub-Rs 40,000-50,000 price bracket, it may debut in the around Rs 30,000-40,000 segment or lower.

It may have a dual rear camera setup and a round-edged design like the previous Nothing smartphones. However, a reader must note the information about the Phone (2a) has not been confirmed by the manufacturer. Hence, you must take these details with a pinch of salt.
