Lipstick Online Order Scam In Mumbai: Online shopping is transforming into a trend due to the swift ordering process and competitive prices. But this easy experience turned into a nightmare for a doctor who lives in Navi Mumbai and ordered a lipstick worth Rs 300. The lady ended up losing about Rs 1 lakh in the latest scam. Here are more details about the new fraud.
According to a report from the Times of India, the lady ordered the fashion accessory from an e-commerce platform on November 2. Days after placing the order, she got a message that her lipstick was delivered to the address. Alerted by the communication, she reached out to the courier service. As a result, she was promised that a representative would contact her to address the concern.
After this, the doctor said that on one call she was informed the order was on hold and completing a payment of Rs 2 would be required to fix the problem. From the weblink forwarded by the scammer, the doctor was asked to fill in the bank details in a form. This link steered the lady to install an app on her mobile phone.

After the process was complete, the lady received deduction messages of Rs 95,000 and Rs 5,000 on November 9. Following this, she registered a complaint with the cyber cell in Nerul. This instance marks another example to remind online shoppers to stay vigilant about ongoing online scams.
