Sam Altman and OpenAI, the company behind the viral model ChatGPT, have gained extensive coverage in media reports for the recent leadership reshuffle. Soon after the rumours around Altman's comeback did not materialise, ex-Twitch boss Emmett Shear joined as the interim CEO of the AI research company. And moments after his appointment, Emmett shared a 'three-point plan' for the upcoming 30 days.

According to his X (formerly Twitter) post, the first step is to onboard an "independent investigator" to investigate Sam's removal and the complete process to consolidate a comprehensive report. Secondly, he added that he would speak to "employees, partners, investors, and customers", gather insights and share the best takeaways.

Thirdly, he noted that he aims to reform the management and leadership into an "effective force" to steer results for OpenAI customers. "It's clear that the process and communications around Sam's removal have been handled very badly, which has seriously damaged our trust," @eshear posted on X. He labelled OpenAI as an "incredible" research project and company. The aim will be to "protect it and grow it", Shear posted.

The new CEO also said that the "partnership with Microsoft remains strong, and my priority in the coming weeks will be to make sure we continue to serve all our customers well." For the unversed, the Redmond giant is a strategic partner for OpenAI for innovation in the artificial intelligence space. Also, Altman joined Microsoft hours after the rumours of his comeback started floating on the internet.
