Oppo Reno 15 Series India Launch Tipped For January 8: Expected Price, And Key Specifications

Oppo has gone on record to say that the Reno 15 series will be launching in India soon, and new leaks are fleshing out the last bits of information around timings, pricing and specs. The company has not revealed a date yet but there are multiple tipsters that claim branding and official intro are just around the corner SUVs, here’s a list of the 15 hottest new cars for under $30K. The next-generation Reno lineup is coming soon with some big improvements in design, durability and performance.

The next series will cover three models: Oppo Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Mini. All of these are also confirmed to come with an aerospace-grade aluminium build, and dust and water resistance will be IP66, IP68, and IP69 rated.

In a report by tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz), Oppo will launch the Reno 15 series in India and other global markets on January 8, with the event starting at 12pm IST.

Category-wise, the Oppo Reno 15 is likely to be priced below Rs. 50,000 in India. The Reno 15 Pro Mini could be even more aggressively placed, perhaps costing below the Rs. 40,000 mark, while the Reno 15 Pro would likely be priced higher than its forerunner, indicating some premium push this year.

Oppo Reno 15 series European pricing leak

One more leak, published online by GI tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414), appears to show European prices and hardware specifications. The prices give us some food for thought that perhaps the Indian pricing of these smartphones will be significantly cheaper, in line with Oppo’s usual regional pricing approach.

Chipsets, battery, and charging details

The European Reno 15 Pro, on the other hand, is rumoured to come equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 SoC and offer a 6,200mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. Meanwhile, the vanilla Reno 15 might be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC and pack a larger 6,500mAh battery with support for an otherwise similar charging solution.

It is to be noted that the Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro models were launched in China in November with the Dimensity 8450 SoC and a triple rear camera setup, so there are going to be regional hardware variances.

Design, colours, and build details

Oppo has teased the launch of the Reno 15 Pro, the Reno 15 Pro Mini, and the Reno 15 in India and has confirmed that at least one of these three phones will be going on sale through Flipkart. The lineup is, in fact, powered by Oppo’s HoloFusion Technology and constructed using premium metal.

Colour options vary by model. Both the Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Mini will be offered in Cocoa Brown and Sunset Gold, while the latter can also be had in Glacier White. The regular Reno 15 will be available in Glacier White, Twilight Blue and Aurora Blue.

The Reno 15 Pro Mini is 7.99 mm thinner and weighs in at around 187 g, while the Reno 15 Pro is both slimmer at 7.65 mm but also heavier at about 205 g. The standard Reno 15 ranges from being a thickness of just under 8 cm at Glacier White and Twilight Blue to having a thickness of approximately 8 cm at Aurora Blue, weighing in at around 197 g.

Display details across the lineup

All three phones have AMOLED displays with full-HD+ resolution. The Reno 15 Pro gets teased to arrive with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel having a screen-to-body ratio of up to 95.5 percent and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The Reno 15 Pro Mini features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 93.35 per cent screen-to-body ratio, both of which are protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and AGC DT-STAR D+.

The basic Reno 15 is equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 per cent and is covered by Gorilla Glass 7i. Peak brightness is 3,600 nits on the Pro models, whereas the Reno 15 goes up to an even lower 1,200 nits under good lighting.

Comprising state-of-the-art materials, impressive durability scores and numerous form-factor alternatives, the Oppo Reno 15 series is already looking to be one of the company’s most promising mid-premium debuts yet. All eyes are now on Jan. 8 for the official word.
