POCO F7 series launch: At its global spring launch event POCO has finally unveiled its F7 Series smartphones. The event took place in Singapore. F series is POCO's flagship lineup and this time it promises to come with some massive game-changing upgrades in design as well as performance. The lineup of the latest flagships includes the F7 Pro and the F7 Ultra The Ultra variant comes with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip which is the industry-leading chip and is standard for flagship performance. So let's get into a detailed breakdown of POCO's latest lineup debut.

POCO F7 Ultra 

Now this is the ultra-flagship device, and comes with a heavy-duty aluminium frame. What this device does differently is that it hides its microphone and speakers this time on the top for a smooth seamless finish of the top frame. This one comes with a glass back finish for a premium look and comes in two premium colour choices the classic Yellow and Black.

This flagship device by POCO comes with an industry-leading flagship SoC which is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a chip that has also been used in the S25 Ultra which is another powerful flagship device by Samsung. This chip is built on advanced 3 nm-based architecture. The chip features 2 primary cores and 6 performance cores. Compared to the Snapdragon 8Gen 3, the company claims that it has an improved CPU performance by 45% and GPU performance by 44% and the NPU delivers 80 TOPS for high AI processing performance. 

The AnTuTu benchmark for the POCO  F7 Ultra score stands at 2,843,461. 

This device also features POCO's first VisionBoost D7 chipset for enhanced graphical capabilities. The company claims that with this you will be able to enjoy games like Genshin Impact at 120 FPS, paired with a 2K Super-resolution display.

Display

To keep things cool, the device features POCO's first 3D dual-channel IceLoop system, as it packs a powerful processor and a large battery. The company claims this technology keeps CPU temperatures 3 degrees cooler with three times the cooling efficiency. The device also features POCO Shield Glass.

Camera Setup

The F7 Ultra features a powerful triple rear camera setup with a 50MP rear camera equipped with a 1/1.55″ Light Fusion 800 sensor, f/1.6 aperture, OIS, EIS, and LED flash. It also includes a 32MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens (Samsung S5KKD1) with an f/2.2 aperture for expansive shots. Additionally, there's a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto lens (Samsung S5KJN5) with 10cm macro capability, offering versatility for close-up photography and the device also comes with 20x UltraZoom. The device supports 8K video recording, making it a robust option for both photos and high-resolution videos.

Battery

The F7 Ultra is powered by a 5300mAh (typical) battery that supports 120W fast charging and 50W wireless HyperCharge, ensuring quick and efficient power delivery.

Pricing 

The device comes in 2 storage configurations the 12GB+256GB will go for $649 and the 16GB+512GB will go for $699

POCO F7 Pro

The company introduced the POCO F7 Pro at the launch event, and this one comes with Qualcomm's one of the most powerful chipsets to date, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, built on 4 nm-based architecture. Compared to last year's F6 pro this chipset delivers a performance boost of 32% in CPU, 34% in GPU and 98% in AI performance. This enables effortless functionality that can handle heavy gaming as well as seamless multitasking.

The AnTuTu scores on this device also reflect impressive numbers, with a score of 2,093,203, which the company claims is a 27% increase over last year's F6 Pro, which had a score of 1,641,243.

Battery and Charging 

To support this enormous powerhouse the device comes with a massive 6000 mAh battery coupled with 90W HyperCharge, with these battery specs you can expect a longer run time paired with shorter charging periods. The company claims that a full charge can be achieved in 37 minutes.

Cooling Apparatus 

To keep things cool, the device features POCO's first 3D dual-channel IceLoop system, designed to handle its powerful processor and large battery. According to the company, this technology keeps CPU temperatures 3 degrees cooler with three times the cooling efficiency.

Software 

This comes with Xiaomi's HyperOS 2 out of the box, which means that the device will support AI features and will come loaded with Xiaomi HyperAI, Xiaomi HyperCore and Xiaomi HyperConnect. The device will also feature Wildboost Optimization 4.0 for the gamers out there, and the device this time will support 2K Super-resolution which is a first for POCO.

Design

This POCO device comes with the narrowest chin of any POCO device yet with a 1.9mm chin bezel. The POCO F7 Pro also features a premium glass back and a metal middle frame. The camera design sports a circular layout for a geometric decor. 

The device is IP68 dust and water-resistant and is available in 3 colourways Silver, Blue and Black.

Display

The device sports a flagship-level 2K 120Hz Flow AMOLED 6.67-inch display good for watching videos and crisp graphics for gaming. The device has upgraded peak brightness and currently stands at 3,200 nits peak brightness. Another interesting thing on the display this time is the ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor and AI Glove touch for those times when you are out in winter with your gloves on. 

Camera 

In the camera department, the POCO F7 Pro features a 50-MP dual camera setup with OIS hardware stabilization. 

Pricing

This device is priced at $499 for the 12GB+256GB variant and $549 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
