Redmi Note 12 HyperOS Update: Xiaomi announced its HyperOS software alongside the launch of the Xiaomi 14 series a few days back in its homeland. While the company has not announced a clear timeline for a release in India, the testing build has confirmed a few details about phones that might be eligible for the update.

According to Xiaomiui, the tests for HyperOS 1.0 have started on the Redmi Note 12. This could mean that the 4G handset is on the list of compatible devices. Reportedly codenamed "tapas", HyperOS is undergoing testing in the global and Indian builds. Secondly, the 4G NFC model, codenamed "tapaz", might also get the update.

The release timeline of Xiaomi HyperOS on the Redmi Note 12 stated in the report is between December 2023 and January 2024. This OS may be based on Google's Android 14. Coming to the specifications, the Redmi Note 12 ships with a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 685 CPU, 5000mAh battery with 33W charging, MIUI 14 based on Android 13, 50MP + 8MP + 2MP rear and 13MP front lens.

POCO F5 Series To Get HyperOS

In a previous report, Xiaomiui noted that the new OS will be available for the midrange POCO F5 and premium midrange POCO F5 Pro. It will offer a performance boost, UI improvements and new features. The internal testing of HyperOS builds has reportedly started. This update could roll out in the first quarter of next year. In India, the POCO F5 5G is the only available device.

As for a quick specifications refresh, the powerful midrange phone has a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 CPU, MIUI 14 based on Android 13, 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging, 64MP + 8MP + 2MP rear sensors and a 16MP selfie lens.
