New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all set to launch its much-awaited device Redmi 8 series on Thursday. The global launch will begin at 2 pm. Redmi 8 series include Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Among important features, the smartphones will be first of its kind to include 64 MP camera. The new phones which will be an upgrade to Redmi Note 7 series.
The live event of the Redmi launch will stream on Xiaomi's official website and Weibo. As per expected specifications, Redmi Note Pro will include 6.53-inch full HD + display and powered by Media Tek Helio G90T processor. The base variant is 8GB RAM + 128 GB storage. It may also include quad-camera setup with 64 MP primary camera, 8 MP wide-angle shooter and 2 MP depth sensor.
It will include 4500 mAh battery with Quickcharge 4+ support, USB Type-C port, 20 MP selfie shooter, NFC and MIUI 10.
Redmi Note 8, on the other hand, may include octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. It could also be a 6.53-inch device like the above-mentioned smartphone. Its quad-camera setup will include 48 MP sensor, 8 MP wide-angle shooter and 2 MP depth sensor. The smartphone could be based on Android Pie with MIUI 10. The base variant of Redmi Note 8 has 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage capacity.
The base variant of Redmi 8 Pro could be launched at Rs 18,000 while its high-end variant may cost you Rs 21,000. Redmi Note 8 starting price is expected to start at Rs 12,000.
