JE Technology Desk: Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S23 series in India with a massive upgrade in the primary lens of its top-end Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, we may not report the same about the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra, as fresh leaks hint that the phone will reportedly have minor upgrades to its camera sensor.

Citing noted tipster Ice Universe, SamMobile reported the upcoming S24 Ultra could get the same 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor as its primary camera on the back. The company will likely use the same 12MP Sony IMX564 sensor for ultra-wide photography and 12MP IMX754 as a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Just the 10x optical zoom lens could witness an upgrade in the form of IMX754+ in the upcoming handset.

"According to Korean sources, The S24 Ultra rear camera has not changed except for the negligible adjustment of 10x," @UniverseIce tweeted.

If this information materialises, no ground-breaking hardware improvements compared to the S23 Ultra could see the light of the day on the upcoming flagship S24 Ultra. The enhancements could be software-based this time. Other than this, the camera specifications of the S24 and S24+ remain unknown to date. The report speculates the younger cousins might not bring any significant upgrade either.

As for more leaks, the company may bring the S24 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to the Asian and North American markets. On the other hand, in Europe, the phones could have an Exynos 2400. Speaking of the launch time of the S24 series, Android Authority speculates that the S24 series may either debut in January or February next year. Moreover, the S24 Ultra could have stacked batteries inspired by a technology deployed in electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, speaking of the current offering, the S23 Ultra has a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13, 5000mAh battery with 45 wired and 15W wireless charging. It sports a 200MP primary + 12MP UW + 10MP 3x telephoto and 10MP periscope lens on the back.
