JE Technology Desk: Samsung will likely bring the Galaxy S24 series next year as a successor to the existing Galaxy S23 series. While the present phones are still fresh in the memories of the tech fraternity, the rumour mill has started leaking information about the upcoming phones. Besides revealing that the S24 Ultra will come with 5x optical zoom capabilities, SamMobile leaked the codename of the upcoming series.

In partnership with GalaxyClub, the news outlet leaked that the South Korean giant has labelled them as 'Muse' internally. The series will likely comprise three models: Galaxy S24 (Muse 1), S24 Plus (Muse 2) and Galaxy S24 Ultras (Muse 3).

The flagship maker has a history of tagging its flagships with codenames. For instance, the Galaxy S20 series was called 'Hubble,' Galaxy S21 was 'Unbound,' Galaxy S22 was 'Rainbow,' and the S23's codename was 'Diamond.' According to previous leaks, Samsung was expected to scrap the Galaxy S24+, but the latest development hints otherwise. The mid-variant will likely be a part of the upcoming premium series.

Further, SamMobile adds that the upcoming smartphone will come with a telephoto lens that will support 5x optical zoom. This is in line with the previous leaks. As per Phonearena, the company may upscale the refresh rate from 120 to 144Hz in the upcoming series.

It may debut with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in select markets. The smartphones will likely debut next year in February. Noted tipster Ice Universe has revealed that the S24 Ultra will have the same 200MP primary sensor as the S23 Ultra with software improvements. However, a reader must note these are not official specs and might differ from the product that will debut in 2024.

Speaking of official updates on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the South Korean unveiled two new colour options: Red and Light Blue. These colour options are priced similarly to the other colour options already available in the market.
