Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8: Samsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy Z Flip8 at its Galaxy Unpacked event, where it also introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The new Flip may look familiar at first glance, but Samsung has focused on making it slimmer, lighter and smarter with a bigger role for Galaxy AI.

At just 180g and 6.1mm thick when unfolded, Samsung says this is its thinnest and lightest Flip phone yet. Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

The phone features a 6.9 inch foldable display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness. There's also a 4.1 inch cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but this time it does much more than simply show notifications.

Samsung has turned the FlexWindow into an AI powered hub. Without even opening the phone, users can check updates, launch apps, use Galaxy AI features and even interact with Now Brief and Gemini Intelligence directly from the cover screen. The idea is to get everyday tasks done faster with fewer taps.

Photography is another area Samsung has tried to improve. The Galaxy Z Flip8 packs a 50MP main camera powered by the ProVisual Engine. Features such as Flex Mode, Mirror View, FlipShot, Camcorder Grip and Super Steady are designed to make selfies and videos easier, whether you're shooting hands free or recording while on the move.

Samsung has priced the Galaxy Z Flip8 from $1,200 (around Rs. 1,15,000), with the base model offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The handset is also available in a 12GB + 512GB configuration.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 also ships with One UI 9, bringing Samsung's latest Galaxy AI features. From personalised suggestions through Now Brief to AI powered assistance with Gemini Intelligence, the software is designed to make everyday tasks feel quicker and more intuitive. Rather than adding AI for the sake of it, Samsung is putting those tools where users are most likely to use them, starting with the cover screen.
