JE Technology Desk: Samsung is gearing up to launch the latest Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 next month in Seoul, South Korea, at the second Unpacked event of 2023. While several rumours have tipped the specifications of the book-style foldable, we now have a seemingly official press render that also acts as a first look at the upcoming foldable device.

MySmartPrice, citing an anonymous source, leaked an image of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The smartphone is visible in Blue colour. On the side sits an S Pen that may be sold separately like the current generation model. At the bottom sits the USB Type-C port, a down-firing speaker, and a microphone like the current model. At the top of the frame sits a speaker unit with additional mics.

On the back side, there's a camera module with a triple camera lens with a flash. Another takeaway from the image is the slim bezels on the screen, compared to its predecessor. This will help scale up the screen-to-body ratio for an even more immersive experience. Like previous models, it will have a metallic frame, as is evident from the antenna lines.

Meanwhile, according to leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 may have a 7.6-inch AMOLED QHD+ 120Hz main screen with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It could have a 6.2-inch AMOLED 120Hz cover display with FHD+ screen resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone is tipped to have a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and offer up to 12GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. The foldable may run on OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13.

To power the internals, it may have a 4400mAh battery with 45W wired and 25W wireless charging. As for the optics, the foldable may have a 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto lens on the back. On the front, it may have a 12MP front camera on both screens.
