Samsung may be gearing up to usher in a fresh foldable era, with its arguably most ambitious device yet—the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold. Several leaks indicate that the company is at last ready to release its first tri-fold smartphone in the next few months, and it could seem users carry around a tablet-sized screen in something that can fit inside their jacket pocket. Although Samsung has not given any of this away yet, there are rumours that the first teaser might come on 31st October, and this will take place in between the APEC 2025.

Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold Launch Timeline

Early reports indicate that Samsung may present their Galaxy Z Tri-Fold at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation 2025 conference (October 31-November 1) before officially unveiling it later that year. If accurate, this tri-fold could make its first debut in South Korea, China and the US before expanding globally by 2026.

Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold Specifications (Expected)

Next, the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold should use a double-hinge design that folds into three sections — similar to what Samsung planned for their Flex In & Out prototypes at CES. Unfolded, such a concept may allow users to experience a 10-inch AMOLED screen that could rival the large form-factor tablet for multitasking, productivity and entertainment.

The outer panel is said to be a 6.5-inch screen, which should enable everyday smartphone duties when folded down. Both displays are rumoured to operate at 120 Hz refresh rates and will come with HDR10+ for rich visuals.

Under the tri-fold’s hood, on the other hand, may sit the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset — which is also expected to power Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series. It could be configured with a maximum of 16GB of RAM for seamless performance and impressively heavy multitasking.

Camera and Battery

According to leaks, Samsung could implement a triple-camera configuration on the back consisting of a 200MP main sensor with ultrawide and telephoto lenses providing digital zoom of up to 100x zoom, as per Samsung's high-end S-series phones.

Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold Price (Expected)

The price may be high as well—speculations are that the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will start at about $3,000 (about ₹2.64 lakhs).

If these leaks are at all accurate, Samsung’s tri-fold might redefine foldable devices — bringing the pocket convenience of a phone as well as the utility of a tablet in one smooth design.
