Samsung, a South Korean smartphone maker, has finally started rolling out the One UI 6 beta program in India. This new OS will be available for download in the latest flagship S series phones. The catalogue includes Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is expected to be released on the latest foldable phones - Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 soon.
According to a report by GSMArena, several users on X posted that the One UI 6.0 Beta package has a size of over 3GB and comes with the security patch of September. In the screengrab shared in the report, Samsung recommends that a user must backup their data before installing the testing build. It adds that "certain features" may not work in the new OS.
Samsung's One UI 6 Beta is now available for Samsung Galaxy S23 users in India based on Android 14.

Step 1. Download the Samsung members app from the Google Play Store.

As per the platform, besides India, China and the United Kingdom witnessed the first beta release of One UI 6. In South Korea, Germany and the United States, the second iteration of beta is rolling out.
One UI 6 Beta India: How To Download?
Samsung Galaxy S23 series users can head to the Google Play Store (or Galaxy Store) and download the official Samsung members app. After login, select "Register for One UI Beta Program". Now head to the settings and move to the "Software update" column. Tap "Download and install" once you see the One UI 6 update.

Before updating, a user must note that users have reported issues with the colour palette, home screen, shortcuts and battery life, the report added. Hence, it is recommended that a user installs the software on a secondary device to test out new features.
According to a recent press release from Samsung, the improved Quick Panel, new default font and emojis in Samsung Keyboard, a custom camera widget and more features are present in the build.
