Tecno has officially dropped its Pova Slim 5G smartphone in India; the company is positioning it as one of the thinnest 5G smartphones available on a global scale. The device is just 5.95 mm thick, weighs only 156 grams, and carries a price tag of ₹19,999.

Price and Availability

The smartphone comes in a single configuration of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Buyers will be able to choose from Cool Black, Sky Blue, and Slim White colour options. Sales kick off on September 8, both on Flipkart and through authorised offline retailers across India.

Display and Design

At the front, the Pova Slim 5G sports a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, making it smooth for both gaming and daily use. The screen also delivers peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits and is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added protection.

Performance and Software

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, which is paired with UFS 2.2 storage. Out of the box, it operates on HiOS 15, which is based on Android 15, ensuring the latest software experience.

Cameras

Photography is handled by a 50MP main sensor along with a 2MP secondary lens. On the front, users get a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Durability and Extras

The Pova Slim 5G sports an IP64 rating for protection against dust and splashes. It also holds KM9 TÜV Rheinland certification. For audio, Tecno has included a single speaker with Dolby Atmos tuning. Other extras include dual SIM support and an infrared remote control sensor.

Battery and Charging

A 5,160mAh battery powers the device, with support for 45W fast charging. Tecno says the phone can reach 50% charge in just 25 minutes and a full charge in 55 minutes, making it a strong contender for heavy users.

AI Features and Design Touches

The phone introduces Ella AI, Tecno’s in-house assistant that supports several Indian regional languages. It brings tools like AI Call Assistant, AI Writing, AI Image Editing, and Privacy Blurring. It also works with Circle to Search, offering a smarter way to look up information directly on the device. Adding flair, Tecno has included a Dynamic Mood Light Design, with customisable LED lights around the rear camera module.
