Jio subscriber data 2025: The total number of active SIM connections, or India's wireless (mobile) subscribers, has increased as of December 2025, with Reliance and Bharti Airtel gaining the most, according to a recent report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Although as far as subscriber movement is concerned, it fluctuated across different operators, as Vodafone Idea Ltd and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) reported net losses.
Jio was able to add around 2.96 million more wireless subscribers in the month of December 2025, and during the same time period, Airtel posted an addition of 5.42 million wireless subscribers. Reliance Jio added around 2.96 million wireless subscribers during the month, with its gains spread across multiple licensed service areas. In comparison, Vodafone Idea reported a net loss of nearly 9.4 lakh wireless subscribers in December, while state-run BSNL also saw a decline of about 2.06 lakh users.

In the broadband segment, total subscribers crossed the one-billion mark, reaching 1,007.35 million by the end of December, according to the latest TRAI data. Jio added nearly twice as many broadband customers as Airtel during the month. The report also noted steady growth in fixed wireless access, with 5G FWA subscribers rising 5.59 per cent month on month.
Jio Ahead in Race
During December 2025, Airtel added 305,933 users on its 5G fixed wireless access network. Jio, on the other hand, saw 275,746 additions on 5G FWA and 392,143 users on UBR-based FWA, taking its total FWA growth for the month to 667,889 subscribers.
When wired broadband is included, Jio added 205,033 FTTH connections, pushing its overall broadband additions to 872,922 across wireless and wired services. Airtel recorded 189,628 wired broadband additions, taking its combined broadband growth to 495,561 for the month.
The strong uptake of AirFiber and fixed wireless offerings helped Reliance Jio add over 8.7 lakh broadband users, nearly double the around 4.9 lakh additions reported by Bharti Airtel Limited. Jio has taken over 79% of the market share in the past six months and has added almost four times the number of subscribers as far as its closest competitor is concerned.
Jio also holds the crown for the country's largest wired broadband provider, with 13.8 million users, and is still continuing to post more additions to its subscriber base.
The wireline segment inched up in December, adding a small but steady number of users. Subscriber numbers moved from 47.05 million in November to 47.37 million by the end of the month, resulting in a 0.68 per cent growth over November.
