Vodafone Idea 5G News: Vi, a popular telecom service provider, is rolling out 5G services in select regions of India, confirms official website. Among the first beneficiaries of the 5G are some locations of Pune and Delhi. The 5G rollout follows the footsteps of other telecom majors, including Airtel and Jio. While the company has not made an official announcement, the official website has stated (at the bottom) some details about 5G services.
The text states that subscribers must gear up to experience the Vi 5G network in select places in the capital and Pune. A Vi 5G-ready SIM is a prerequisite to use 5G services. In a press release of 2022, the company said that 5G will offer faster download speeds and better responsiveness than 4G, 3G or older services.
Coming back to the present, on the official website of Vi, the company has stated the below-mentioned text within the 5G subhead: "Get ready to experience the potential of the Vi 5G network in India with 5G live at select places in Pune and Delhi. Seamless connectivity with Vi 5G ready SIM."

According to the information on the website in a previous year's release, users are not required to change their 4G SIM cards as 5G will run on these SIMs without any issues. However, you should have a 5G smartphone to enjoy 5G services on the network.
Vi 5G News: How To Enable 5G?
You can head to the mobile network options within 'Settings' and choose your Vi connection (if you use two SIM cards). Now, change the 'Preferred network type' to '5G' to use the service in an eligible zone. You can also try restarting the phone if you are unable to use 5G networks.
For the unversed, Jio and Airtel are offering unlimited 5G services with their select plans. Vi has not made a similar announcement at the time of filing.
