WhatsApp, which is currently working on a number of new features, is said to be rolling out new upgraded community features. According to WaBetaInfo, the community feature appeared to function well for the instant messaging platform, and the company is now building a new group suggestions tool to improve the existing community feature.
Users can now recommend groups to community administrators, making it easier for other users to search, explore, and join new groups. The new functionality was discovered by beta testers who updated their application to Android 2.23.14.14, which is now accessible on the Google Play Store.
According to reports, WhatsApp will create a new section dedicated to the functionality, where community admins will be able to examine and accept or reject group recommendations from other community members. Further, the report suggests that it will also have a section of simple shortcuts for speedy approval or rejection of proposals. The report's screenshot also alluded to the admin approval privacy option, which is required for group members to access the feature.
If the suggestions are accepted, the group is automatically added to the community, and the members are also added to it. Further, the report also suggests that joining any community groups will still be controlled by individual members and will not be automatic.
The group suggestion functionality is currently in development and will be made available to general users in the next releases.
Meanwhile, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is reportedly rolling out a new feature using which the users will be able to share high-quality video on both iOS and Android devices. Earlier, the company was reported to be rolling out a feature using which the users will be able to share high-quality images without degrading the quality.
