WhatsApp, which is not only an instant messaging platform but also used for sharing media files, including videos has now made a major improvement as the platform is adding the capability of sending high-quality videos to their contacts. Till now the Meta-owned platform allowed users to share the videos in reduced or compressed sizes (data compression) for faster and better operations.
According to Wabetainfo, the platform is now launching a new function that will allow users to share high-quality videos through the app. Previously, the site offered a new capability for sharing high-quality photographs that provide better resolution while maintaining original proportions.
WhatsApp High-Quality Videos: How Does It Work?
According to the report, WhatsApp will add a button to the drawing editor that would allow users to share high-quality movies while keeping video resolution settings. The platform would continue to use compressions, which implies that video quality will not be HD but will still be greater than the current level.
This report also claims that the platform will default to the normal setting, requiring users to actively select the high-quality option each time they share a video.
To test whether the option is accessible on your device, try sending a large video file to a contact. If the choice for high-quality video appears, the feature is available. When a video is shared in high quality, it will be labelled as HQ Video in the chat.
When Is It Rolling Out; Eligibility?
This functionality is now being rolled out to a small group of beta testers who have downloaded Android version 2.23.14.10 from the Play Store. However, with the next update, the feature is expected to be made available to the whole public.
