WhatsApp, an instant messaging application, gets regular media attention for introducing new features and teasing the upcoming ones in the beta version. Continuing this pattern, the company is now testing more text formatting options on iOS, according to WABetaInfo. The move is yet another attempt of the messaging platform to upscale the user experience.
According to the report, these new tools are in beta trial in version "23.21.1.75" for eligible testers on Apple iPhones. These new additions will help improve the readability and structural organisation of chat. Besides improving the layout of these messages, it will also offer better customisation. Here are all the latest text formatting additions undergoing testing on WhatsApp.

In the screengrab shared in the report, three text formatting tools were highlighted: Code Block, Quote Block and Lists.

Code Block - This allows users to share code snippets on the instant messaging app. Eligible beta users can implement this formatting in messages using the backtick character.
Quote Block - The formatting option is used to insert quotes in a message. This can be added via the ">" prefix character.
Lists - These can be used to organise information within a message in a point-wise format. The list can be created using the "*" or "-" characters in the case of bullets and via numbers.

Other than improving the chat experience, these options can be used as a medium to organise information for personal purposes. With this sorting, it will be easy to share technical details in a precise format. Enrolled testers can update their app via TestFlight to the above-stated version and try the formatting options.
