WhatsApp plans to release a new text status feature with disappearing options in the upcoming update, according to a report by WaBetaInfo. Meta-owned platform is already testing a lot of features and it is expected that a lot of them are under the pipeline.

The "about" feature has been improved with the new version 23.24.10.73, which is identified in WhatsApp Settings as 2.23.24.73. In the new update, users can now establish a temporary text status that will automatically disappear after a predetermined amount of time.

Users will have more control over who can see their profile information with the improved functionality, which is presently in development. A text status timer that users can set ensures that it fades after a specific amount of time, preserving privacy and allowing for transient updates rather than a permanent text status.

The lack of a permanent text status encourages users to publish short updates that represent their current activities or views, even though the "Never" option is not available at this time. The goal of the new text status function is to provide WhatsApp users with a more engaging and private experience.

WhatsApp is actively working on a number of enhancements to the text status disappearing function, giving users more control over how visible their profile information is. These upgrades are part of the company's strategy for responsible AI development and a multi-stakeholder approach, guaranteeing a safe and easy-to-use experience.

Users of WhatsApp can expect the official release of the new text status feature with disappearing choices in the next updates as the beta testing continues.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also added the option to disable its Chatbot in the latest beta version. The testers and developers were able to find a dedicated button in the Settings. As per the reports, WhatsApp aims to enhance the overall user experience by adding this option.
