WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to simplify updating your display picture, according to reports. Users could potentially retrieve profile pictures from Facebook and Instagram using this new tool. WAbetaInfo noticed this feature in WhatsApp beta 2.25.21.23 for Android, currently under beta testing with select users. WABetaInfo spotted this enhancement on WhatsApp beta 2.25.21.23 for Android. With beta testing in progress, some users have this functionality. Once fully implemented, users will see more fetch and link options that will allow pictures to be retrieved from the Meta Account Centre. Meta's opt-in and disabled by default feature helps users save both time and effort when uploading pictures to multiple platforms at the same time, saving both effort and time! Meta offers this as an integrated feature between WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, which all belong under its umbrella, for even closer integration between these services.
WhatsApp currently allows users to customise their profile picture by taking pictures themselves, selecting from their gallery, or choosing AI images. We expect future updates will allow users to access Facebook and Instagram profile pictures for use as profile pictures on WhatsApp.

How the New Profile Photo Import Feature Works
As of now, only a small group of beta testers has access to the feature that was found in WhatsApp beta 2.25.21.23 for Android. Users will have the option to import photos from Facebook and Instagram via two new features located in the Profile Menu.
Meta's Account Centre includes one caveat for use of their service: users must first link their WhatsApp account through Meta. This feature can only be activated manually and turned off by default to preserve WhatsApp's privacy safeguards.

When Will It Roll Out for Everyone?
WhatsApp is yet to announce the exact date when this feature will become available for all; however, as per previous records, it could arrive sooner rather than later.
Why This Matters
This update will enable users to more easily manage their digital identity across Meta’s platforms. Updating profile pictures across multiple apps has always been a hassle, but now, after updating your profile picture in WhatsApp, it will be updated in Facebook, Instagram, and all linked platforms.
