JE Technology Desk: Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is known for beta testing new features and optimising existing ones to enhance user experience. The latest update could arguably bring one of the top-demanded features on the messaging app soon. The company is reportedly developing 'multi-account' support that may be available on a future version of WhatsApp.
According to WABetaInfo, the new feature is under development in the business version of WhatsApp on Android. The beta build marked in the report is - 2.23.13.5, which is available on Google Play Store. But the report claims the feature will also be compatible with WhatsApp Messenger. However, the WhatsApp tracker adds that the functionality is not releasing to beta testers at the moment.
The company recently announced a companion mode to let users use one WhatsApp account from multiple devices. And this update will allow users to operate multiple accounts from one device. In the screengrab of the UI shared by the news outlet, two active WhatsApp accounts in one app are visible in the menu. Users can opt for an account they wish to use from this menu.
An account set up for the first time will remain active on the device unless the user logs out from the app to allow a transition between multiple accounts.

It will help bifurcate personal and work chats for most users in India and boost the efficiency of a user on the platform. If the details in the report materialise, it will also eliminate the need for tools such as Dual Space, Dual Apps, App Cloner and more for using separate WhatsApp accounts on one device.
Moreover, the company is also testing a feature that eases the process of taking action on missed calls on Windows. A new ''Call back" button next to the Missed call prompt to call the user back is visible in the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo. Beta build marked as - 2.2323.1.0 is an eligible build.
