WhatsApp, a Meta-owned messaging app, is renowned for testing new features across its platforms. In a recent update, the company is now developing a feature to let users create AI-generated profile photos in the app on Android. According to WABetaInfo, the company is working on the feature in the Android beta "2.24.11.17" build. This option will likely be available in a future version of the app.

According to the report, due to the "under development" character of the AI profile pictures feature, it is not even rolling out to beta testers. The update comes after the recent AI stickers creation feature. Beta users can keep their app updated from the Google Play Store to ensure they receive the feature whenever it starts rolling out.

In the screengrab shared by the WhatsApp tracker, users may get the option to make their personalised profile picture using the "Create AI Profile Picture" window. You may "describe an image" in the text field and press the green arrow button to start generating the image once the option is released.

Using the feature, users may get the option to generate unique and personalised profile photos for a better representation of the image. Users can enter prompts to let users describe the image they want in the text field using the AI creation tool based on textual prompts. This feature will help improve privacy as users can choose something different (or from the internet) besides personal photos.
