Further, the report also mentions that the company would be adding a dedicated Chat Transfer feature in the Settings section of the platform. After the user taps on it, a QR Code will be generated for scanning and the data would start migrating to the new device hassle-free. It seems that it would be a useful feature for Android device users and would eliminate the requirement for Google Drive.
The company has not announced the rollout of the feature as of now but it is expected that the feature would soon make it to Android devices in the coming future. Additionally, it is also expected that the feature would make it to iOS users as well.
WhatsApp has recently rolled out a series of new features including the companion mode, disappearing messages, and more. With this, the company is aiming to retain the huge active user base by providing them with improved features and a fresh user interface for a better experience.
