WHATSAPP has been in the news recently because it is continually implementing new features to ensure the security of its vast audience all over the world. Furthermore, the company is integrating additional utility features to assist consumers with their day-to-day chores for smoother and speedier procedure usage.

Not only this, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is currently working on a few new features, which could be a game changer for the application and would give it an edge over the competitors like Telegram. Here are a few of them that are reportedly going to make it to the application anytime soon.

1. WhatsApp Username

According to the report by WaBetaInfo, the company is working on a new feature that would allow users to add a customised username to their accounts. It will be an alternative to displaying the phone numbers and will give users an alternative to the phone number display. With this, the users would be able to communicate with each other just by using usernames instead of revealing phone numbers. However, the feature is under development.

2. WhatsApp Share Your Screen

The instant messaging platform will soon allow users to share their screen of smartphone, while they are on a video call. It will be available with a dedicated icon on the call control view. However, it seems that the company is inspired by the Google Meet. Additionally, users will be having the control to start and stop screen sharing at any time they want. It is already available to the beta testers.

3. Password Reminder

WhatsApp is also anticipated to bring a password reminder feature for the users and will help the users ensure to put a backup password. The users will now have the option to protect their backups with end-to-end encryption and can change it whenever they want.

4. App Language, Draft feature

With this feature, the company is working to allow the users to modify the language of the app and provides a message draft filter. The feature is currently available to select Windows beta users.

5. Status Archive Feature

Yet another interesting feature would allow the businesses to share their past status updates with the customers. The feature is currently available for beta testers and will be available for everyone in the coming future. Additionally, users would be able to manage their archive status from the tab.
