Xbox Cloud Gaming has launched on selected Amazon Fire TV devices in India, allowing gamers to play their favourite titles without a console. What that actually means is that anyone with a supported Fire TV Stick and a Game Pass subscription can begin streaming Xbox titles directly from their TV without needing to purchase an Xbox. It’s also meant to be simple: Download the Xbox app, connect a controller and start streaming. As Microsoft continues to grow its cloud gaming offering, which now sees a presence in India, this new rollout offers another convenient way for gamers to enjoy blockbuster games as well as indie hits and Game Pass titles directly from their living room.

How Xbox Cloud Gaming Works

Xbox Cloud Gaming does the thing where it streams games from servers owned by Microsoft. No downloading, installing, or console required – the entire game runs from the cloud, so your Fire TV is the only thing you need to play.

You will need a reliable internet connection, and Microsoft in an online post suggests it will be best if you have at least 10Mbps for smooth game play. You can only have one cloud gaming session going per account, and the app doesn’t support local multi-player.
