A police constable in Hyderabad was caught on camera brutally beating up a youth with his lathi, sparking outrage and protest from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) members. The incident took place on Saturday night in the Rasoolpura area under Chaderghat police station.

The victim, identified as Sami Khan, was sitting in the area when a police team was on a routine round. The constable, Chary, allegedly attacked him without any provocation. Sami Khan suffered severe injuries and was shifted to Osmania Hospital for treatment.

The video of the assault went viral on social media, drawing condemnation from the public and the AIMIM. The party leaders demanded action against the constable and an inquiry into the allegations that the policeman was drunk at the time of the incident.

In another incident, two women were allegedly thrashed and humiliated by the sons of a state minister and their gunner in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur on Saturday. A video of the incident, showing a gunner in a police uniform and two others beating the women and tearing their clothes has gone viral on social media.
