The occupants of the other flats in the building became concerned when the victims did not come out of their apartment on Sunday. After repeated attempts to reach them, residents broke the door and discovered the lifeless bodies of the family members in the bathroom.
The police immediately arrived at the scene and transferred the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations suggest that the family had been using the geyser in the bathroom when the fatal electric shock occurred.
The Apartment Welfare Association secretary, Mallu Prasad, stated that the building had been experiencing frequent short circuits due to an ongoing issue with the electrical earthing system. A complaint had been lodged with the relevant authorities just a few days before the tragic incident.
In a separate incident on the outskirts of Hyderabad, a youth lost his life while attempting dangerous stunts for an Instagram reel.
