Hyderabad Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain across various districts of Telangana on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The forecast also includes thunderstorms and lightning.
The IMD has placed all districts in Telangana under a yellow alert, which will remain in effect until May 21. This alert highlights the possibility of significant rainfall and stormy weather over the next four days.
Telangana Weather Today: Heavy Rain Likely In THESE Districts
According to the latest weather bulletin, heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are predicted in a wider range of districts, including Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, and Medchal-Malkajgiri.
Hyderabad Weather Forecast
In Hyderabad, the forecast indicates light to moderate rains or thundershowers, along with gusty winds, persisting until May 21. The IMD warns that maximum temperatures across the state are likely to remain between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius during this period.
Telangana Weather Forecast
May 18: Heavy rain is likely in the aforementioned districts. Thunderstorms with winds reaching 40-50 km/h are forecast for Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, and other regions. A slightly lower intensity of storms, with winds of 30-40 km/h, is expected in districts such as Nalgonda, Suryapet, and Warangal.
May 19: The IMD predicts similar thunderstorm conditions in various districts, while on May 20-21, thunderstorms with gusty winds are expected in all districts of Telangana.
