The Odyssey Teaser Leaked: Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Odyssey has been one of the most hly anticipated movies of the year, following his Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. Now, the film is creating buzz after its teaser leaked on a social media platform. The makers debuted exclusively in theatres ahead of Jurassic Park: Rebirth. This is not the first time leaks have affected major movies and shows ahead of their releases. Previously, films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, House of the Dragon and the final season of Game of Thrones, had footage leaked online.

The Odyssey Teaser

The 70-second teaser introduces audiences to Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus and Jon Bernthal in a mysterious role. The story is narrated in what seems to be Robert Pattinson's voice, adding to the intrigue.

Along with the shots of dark blue ocean and waves crashing along the sandy shore, a voice is heard saying, “Darkness. Zeus’ laws smashed to pieces. A kingdom without a king since my master died. He knew it was an unwinnable war, and then somehow…somehow he won it.”

As per Variety report, the teaser also gives glimpses of the iconic Trojan Horse, Odysseus' master plan to sneak soldiers into Troy. The Trojan Horse, a crucial part of the story in Homer's book The Odyssey, is where the film gets its inspiration. The visuals of the horse's shadow stretching across the beach, followed by a shot of the horse itself, submerged in water as waves crash against it. The film unfolds Odysseus' decade-long journey home after facing challenges, including encounters with monsters like the Cyclops and confrontations with various Greek gods.

The Odyssey features a stellar cast including Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, among many others. The film is still in production, and it is to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. The movie is scheduled for release worldwide in theatres on July 17, 2026.
