In a tragic road accident in Memphis, USA, a 26-year-old Indian student, Naga Sri Vandana Parimala lost her life on Friday. Two others sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle, according to media reports. Parimala was a student at the University of Memphis, and her untimely demise has left the Indian student community in shock and mourning.

Memphis Police responded to a two-vehicle crash just after midnight on Friday at National Street and Rockwood Avenue, where they found three people injured. Police investigation revealed that one vehicle failed to yield while travelling west on Rockwood Avenue, crashing into another car heading south on National Street.

According to a report by Republic World, Naga Sri Vandana Parimala’s family in Tenali is devastated by her tragic death in a road accident in Memphis. Her parents, Ganesh and Ramadevi, are struggling to cope with the loss of their daughter, who had moved to the US two years ago with aspirations for a bright future. 

Parimala had excelled in her studies and was preparing to start her career. Efforts are currently underway to repatriate her mortal remains to India.

Rising Concerns Over Safety Of Indian Students In US

Concerns are rising over the safety of Indian students in the US, with at least 11 reported deaths this year as of April 9, including cases of natural and mysterious causes.

Earlier last week, Sai Teja Nukarapu, a 22-year-old from Khammam, Telangana, was shot dead by assailants at a gas station near Chicago. The incident occurred early Saturday (Indian time) while Sai Teja, who was not on duty, was helping a friend. The friend had stepped out for some work when the shooting took place.

Sai Teja Nukarapu, a BBA graduate from India, was pursuing an MBA in the US and working part-time. He was shot dead while helping a friend at a gas station. The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has been contacted for assistance. His body is expected to be returned to India next week.
