In a tense moment during a US congressional hearing, Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace revealed what she claimed was a nude image of herself, allegedly taken without her permission by her former fiance. According to the New York Post, the incident took place during a House Oversight Committee meeting, where Mace was pushing for tougher legislation against video voyeurism.

"Freedom is not a theory - it's the right to sleep without someone's camera filming your naked body," the South Carolina representative stated. "I speak not just as a lawmaker, but as a survivor."

Behind Mace, there were large black-and-white posters on display, which she said were stills from surveillance footage. She alleged that the footage captured her naked silhouette inside a private residence without her awareness. One of the images featured a yellow circle around the figure she identified as herself.

"I didn't know that I had been filmed. I didn't give my consent," she said.

Mace has made serious accusations against her ex-fiance, Patrick Bryant, claiming he not only secretly recorded her but also committed acts of rape and abuse allegations Bryant has firmly denied.

"I categorically deny the false and outrageous claims made by Nancy Mace," Bryant responded in a statement. "I have never raped anyone. I have never hidden cameras. These accusations are malicious and deeply personal."

Bryant also claimed that Mace was using her Congressional role to make accusations under the protection of the US Constitution’s "speech and debate" clause, which shields lawmakers from legal consequences for remarks made in the course of their official duties.
