John Cena would be retiring from the in-ring tournament in WWE this year, and there are a lot of names who would lock horns with the legend before he retires from this sport. At the same time, Dutch Mantell opened up to the Franchise Players' show in Backlash, and R-Truth might lock horns with the legend in his retirement match.
Post WWE Backlash, John Cena attended the post-show press conference. But R-Truth interrupted him, who then got on Attitude Adjustment from the Last Real champion, after John Cena was seen walking out.
During an interaction on Story time with Dutch Mantell, he talked about the post-Backlash part in Missouri, and then talked about a match happening between Truth and Cena in the upcoming months before Cena retires.
"They just lowkey it; I love that. Everybody knows, even a kid, they're only going to go till December (2025) with it. So, let's see what else they [Truth and Cena] do, and they'll [Management] see what else they can do with it. I like it," Mantell was quoted as saying on Story Time with Dutch Mantell.

For the last few years, R-Truth has been getting inspiration from his childhood hero John Cena, who is a part of WWE's main team. Truth believes Cena completely, irrespective of what the fans think of him.
During an interaction on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the ex-United States champion opened up that he might face John Cena. He would perform in his own right before Cena retires from his sport.
"Y'all want to see that? But the only way we can see that, though, it's got to be the right way. The old me, I'm not a bad guy, I'm a good guy now, if you haven't noticed that. I'm a good guy. I kiss the babies, I hug people, I don't kick people in the nuts. So for that to happen, it would have to be a complete turnaround," Truth was quoted as saying on INSIGHT.
It would be interesting to see whether these two would face each other in the ring till the end of this year.
