Ayodhya News: Malaysian Tourist Found Dead In Hotel Room Near Ram Janmabhoomi Complex; Probe On

A 73-year-old Malaysian tourist, who had come to visit Ayodhya with his family, was found dead in his hotel room on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Darma Raja RP Sammugam. He was staying at a hotel near the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.

Police said that the incident came to light when two people who had gone out of the room returned and found the door locked. They called the hotel manager, who opened the room and found Sammugam lying unconscious. He was rushed to the Medical College Ayodhya, where he was declared dead.

"The incident came to light when two people went out of the hotel room, and when they came back the said person was not opening the door. The hotel manager was called, the room was opened, and the deceased was found lying in the room. When he was brought to the hospital, he was found dead," a doctor at Medical College Ayodhya said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Police have sent the body for postmortem and sealed the hotel room for investigation. The cause of death is not yet known.
