A teenager died after being shot under suspicious circumstances in the Tihura Uparhar area of the Ayodhya Kotwali precinct. Following the incident, the accused youth fled the scene. It is suspected that the accused, accompanied by his friends, was loading an illegal pistol to assert his dominance in the area when the weapon accidentally discharged, killing the teenager.

Details Of The Shooting

The victim, identified as 14-year-old Alok Verma, son of the late Ramnihor Verma, was playing badminton on Tuesday evening. According to reports, a local resident named Anis Yadav arrived at the spot with an illegal pistol. The gun fired, and the bullet struck Alok directly.

Medical Emergency And Death

Alok was rushed to the Medical College in Darshannagar in critical condition. Given the severity of his injuries, doctors referred him to Lucknow for advanced treatment. However, Alok succumbed to his injuries on the way, before reaching Lucknow. The tragic incident has left the victim's family in a state of shock and deep mourning.

Police Investigation And Theories

Upon receiving information, SP Chakrapani Tripathi and Ayodhya CO Ashutosh Tiwari arrived at the scene to investigate. The victim's uncle, Durga Prasad, alleged that the accused, Anis, often engaged in such reckless behaviour to show off his dominance in the area and accused him of shooting Alok.

Meanwhile, there is also a suspicion that Anis was making a social media "reel" with the illegal weapon when the accidental firing occurred. The CO of Ayodhya stated that police teams have been deployed to arrest Anis. The exact circumstances leading to the shooting will only be confirmed after his arrest.
